Frustrated with Washington and Politicians?

I am convinced there is life on other planets and they are using Washington DC as their insane asylum. Like me, do you ever get frustrated with the nonsense spouted by professional politicians? I find it hard to not speak critically about the blatant hypocrisy but the Word regularly convicts me about doing so.

Titus 3 not only convicted me but went on to explain why, though I don’t have to support or laud bad leadership, I shouldn’t speak evil even of evil men.

Titus 3:1, 2
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.

Slander no one? Be peaceable and gentle toward everyone? But what if they are idiots!? Yes, even idiots fall under the category of “everyone”. But why can’t I “speak the truth” about these “evil leaders”?

It goes on to explain.

Titus 3:3
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

Because we too were once deceived, enslaved, filled with malice. I must forgive because I have been forgiven. Likewise, I must be gentle, considerate because I was once just as deceived, enslaved and foolish. That can sound arrogant but actually leads to humility because my deliverance from deception had nothing to do with me and all to do with Him. So, guard your tongue, Rick.

Matthew 12:34-36
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, …. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
